Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

The short version: DoodlePlot is built to need as little information as possible. There are no accounts, your drawings stay on your device, and we don't show ads or use behavioral tracking. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous, non-identifying app diagnostics — described in Section 7.
App vs. website: This policy covers the DoodlePlot app. Our marketing website (doodleplot.com) is handled separately — including the advertising cookie it uses to measure our ads — in our Website & Cookie Notice.

1. Who we are

DoodlePlot ("the App") is operated by GlucoPlate Inc., a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act and registered to carry on business in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). DoodlePlot is a drawing app the whole family can enjoy — fun for kids and grown-ups alike. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to responsible, minimal data practices under applicable privacy laws, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Our local-first, account-less design

DoodlePlot does not require an account and does not ask for a name, email, or password to draw. Your drawings, progress, favorites, and settings are stored on the device only. We do not have a copy of them on our servers.

3. Information we do NOT collect

  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • Precise location or GPS data
  • Contacts or microphone audio
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app behavioral tracking
  • Persistent identifiers used to build an advertising or marketing profile of you

The camera and your photo library are used only for the features described in Sections 4 and 5, and only when you choose to use them.

4. The camera

Tracing uses your device's camera to show a live view of the paper underneath, with the chosen picture laid over it. This live view is shown on screen only — it is not recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere.

5. Turning a photo into artwork

If you choose to turn one of your own photos into a traceable outline, that conversion happens on the device — the photo is not sent anywhere.

Some optional features create artwork in the cloud. If you choose to turn a photo into a caricature (a cartoon drawing), or use AI-generated custom templates, the necessary image or text is sent to Google's Gemini AI only to create that artwork. Google's built-in AI safety systems screen the content to keep results appropriate for children. It is processed transiently to generate the result and is not stored by us, and we do not use it to build any profile of you. These features are off until you turn them on: the first time you use one, an in-app consent screen explains what happens, and you can turn AI off again any time in Settings — which stops all AI processing. Photos or text are sent only when you actively choose to make a drawing.

6. Purchases

Optional subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier used only to keep track of whether a subscription is active; it is not linked to your identity.

7. Analytics & diagnostics

The app sends anonymous usage statistics (which features are used) and crash reports (such as device model and OS version — not your photos or drawings) to Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) so we can improve the app and fix problems. Firebase Analytics is configured without advertising-identifier support. This data is not linked to your identity, and, in the app, we do not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, or behavioral tracking.

8. Ads

The DoodlePlot app is ad-free. We do not show third-party ads inside the app and do not use third-party advertising or behavioral-ad SDKs in the app. (Our marketing website, doodleplot.com, is a separate matter and uses an advertising pixel to measure our own app-install ads — that is covered by our Website & Cookie Notice, not this app policy.)

9. Legal bases (EEA & UK)

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, GlucoPlate Inc. is the data controller. Where the limited diagnostics described in Section 7 involve personal data (such as a device identifier or IP address seen by our providers), we rely on our legitimate interests in keeping the App stable, secure, and improving — balanced against your interests — and, where required, on your consent. Purchases are processed to perform the purchase you request. You can object to, or opt out of, diagnostics at any time by contacting us or by uninstalling the App (see Section 10 for how to reach us).

10. Your regional rights & contact

Because we don't collect information that identifies you personally, there is generally little for us to look up, correct, or delete on our servers — clearing the app or deleting it removes the on-device data. Subject to applicable law, you may still have the following rights:

  • EEA / UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, plus the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. The DoodlePlot app does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our website uses the Meta advertising pixel described in Section 9, which may count as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out using our "Your Privacy Choices" link, the Global Privacy Control signal (which we honor), or the controls in Section 9. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be a child.
  • Canada (PIPEDA) & other regions: access to and correction of personal information we hold about you.

To exercise any of these rights, or for any question or concern about your privacy, contact us any time at contact@doodleplot.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

11. International data transfers

We are based in Canada, and the providers described above (Google Firebase, Google's Gemini AI, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat) may process data on servers in other countries, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses through those providers' data-processing terms.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves (for example, if optional accounts for cross-device sync are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe exactly what that involves). Changes are posted here with a new date.
